We are preparing to use the Splendide in our coach for the first time. We purchased the coach used and have not used the washer/dryer combination. Do we wash with the grey water valve closed, then dump. Or do we wash with the grey water dump valve open and the dump hose connected to the RV Park sewer dump. Or maybe some other procedure. Thanks. Larry
We leave the grey valve open all the time so in our case when using the Splendide, the grey is open.
You can wash more than you can dry in the Splendide. So, wash two sheets and pillow cases, then dry one sheet and pillow case at a time.
Hope this helps you as we use ours all the time and never go to a laundromat.
Rudy,
Thanks for the reply. Do you know where the valves are located that turn on the hot and cold to the washer?
Thanks, Larry
In my 1995 U320, they are in the cabinet under the refrigerator.
Larry, you can wash with either configuration. I would suggest the first time you wash with the gray water valve closed and look at your tank monitor before and after the first load... that will give you an idea of the amount of water that particular cycle uses.
You don't say which model you have... if you or Terry have more questions, you'll get more specific answers as there is some variation between the older models and the newer ones. Our '03 was plumbed for W/D, but none installed. A few months after we purchased the coach in 11/09, we installed the new 2100XC.
Awhile back, I responded to another user with some laundry "tips," and the mods broke out my post into a new thread: Pat's Helpful Splendide Laundry Tips (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=13618.msg76008)
Here's a related thread on the lint flushing maintenance procedure for the 2100XC: Splendide 2100XC "maintenance flush" procedure (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=12521.msg65767)
Lastly, here's a thread on drying laundry using bedroom ceiling fans: Bedroom Fans (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=18135.msg123348#msg123348)
Happy washing! :))
Patricia,
Thanks for the reply. Our washer/dryer is a Splendide 2100.
Larry
Larry... don't know if you have the manual or not... but just in case, here are two; one is for the 2100 (non-XC) and the other is for the 2100XC. I have the XC and I believe the McNeeces (also in an '03) have the non-XC. You'll note in the lint-flushing discussion (Splendide 2100XC "maintenance flush" procedure (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=12521)) that there are some significant differences.
Here are the manuals:
2100 (non-XC): http://www.splendide.com/manual_wd2100_2000s.pdf (http://www.splendide.com/manual_wd2100_2000s.pdf)
2100XC: http://www.splendide.com/WD2100XC_IOM3.pdf (http://www.splendide.com/WD2100XC_IOM3.pdf)
In our '03 they are back right top behind the Splendide. Best accessed from the space above the washer (you probably need to remove the top of the wood box in the corner). The manabloc also likely has valves for the Splendide.
Michelle,
Thanks for the reply. I found the box in the corner in the shelve above the washer/dryer. I also found the Manibloc and saw the hot/cold shut offs for the washer/dryer. We turned on washer/dryer and the water started running. The valves have been on for the eight months that we have owned the coach. Scary how on top of things we are.
Patricia,
We have the manuals. Both in print and PDF.
Thanks
Larry
