Title: A Mouldy Fridge,
Post by: MR B2 on March 28, 2014, 05:13:41 pm

Yep, You guessed it, This Idiot forgot to leave the fridge open didnt he, Hahahaha

A month sitting there in the heat, I opened the fridge to have a look as I want to use it this weekend for a Steel Bumper

Bar Rod Show,, And to show off my Mansion on Wheels, I am very Proud of my Foretravel Grand Villa,

I bought new gas bottles and was about to fire the fridge up, I looked inside, Whoa, It was full of Black Mould, YUK,

I go online, Whats the best thing to clean Black Mould out of a Fridge, Which very nasty chemical do I use for it,

Well it seems the most popular and easiest was White vinegar, 3 to 1 mixed with water, and leave it on for an hour,

Online,  how to do it Video's, Magic,

I am a Mere Male, So dont expect me to be a cleaning expert on the subject of cleaning , quick and easy is my Forte, Hahahaha

So I find a spray bottle, Fill it with the vinegar and water mixture, I am not sure what the reaction to plastic is with Vinegar
So I start to wipe it off as soon as I had sprayed it all, WOW, The Black Mould is just dissolving before my very eyes,

An hour later, My Fridge is absolutely Sparkling, Clean as a whistle, Even the Black doors on the out side are streak free and sparkling,

I couldnt believe it was going to be so easy, Spray on, Wash it off with clean water and a Cloth, Then wipe it with a dry cloth,
The White Vinegar I had in the cupboard any way, But Total cost, Was probably 50 Cents, And an hour of my time,

It took longer because I have a Bung left arm, so I could not use both my hands,

Then I got carried away, Did the bench tops as well, Magic stuff this vinegar, But that was enough and I had to stop, The Spray bottle was empty and my sore arm was playing up,

So till next time, Have a nice day, Where ever you are, On this wonderfull Planet we all live on,

TSP also is easy, and safe to use. I use vinegar whenever I can as it is pretty gentle, and Food Safe.

A simple trick, is to leave crumpled newspapers in the fridge/freezer...

Best

Great job!  Want to clean the P traps in the plumbing?  Use baking soda down the drain and follow with a cup of white vinegar. This combo is powerfull.

Chlorine bleach, well diluted in water, also works well on refrigerator mold.

Powerful indeed! They can be used to make CO2 bombs. Be sure your plumbing is vented if you use that combination. I understand Coca-Cola and Mentos make an even more powerful combination.
