Title: accelerator foot pressure
Post by: fkjohns6083 on April 04, 2014, 11:16:01 pm
Kathy (my wife) has trouble keeping the accelerator pedal down due to the pressure req'd.  Is there a way to reduce the holding pressure on the air operated accelerator peddle on a 91 GV??  Thanks and have a great day  ----  Fritz

Kathy,

I slide the driver's seat forward so my foot will be higher on the pedal and therefore less pressure is required.

On the 240 I noticed that the angle is sharper for your foot so maybe make an angled block to attach to pedal so foot is more vertical. Should be easy to do and work fine.

Fritz,

I have noticed the same difficulty when driving our U280.  I thought it was just me.  I have it on my "to-do" list - to see if there is any way to reduce the required foot pressure.  Just haven't gotten around to it yet.  My interim solution is to engage cruise control whenever and where ever possible.

Let us know if you come up with any kind of mechanical solution (other than moving the seat or a pedal block).

Fritz, Clean up around the throttle pedal, dirt and trash can restrict the travel and make it hard to operate.
