Title: Motor Home of Texas
Post by: Andy 2 on April 26, 2014, 09:23:52 am
Good Morning,

Well we have decided to sell the house and Bus and Buy a used 40' 320 Foretravel. There is one at MHT that we are considering. My question is, Does MHT inspect the Coach or should i have a third party look at it ?  The one we are looking at is a 1996 40' 320 for 49,500.  Thanks for any thoughts and comments.

We always recommend that you pay a third party to do a PDI before making a purchase commitment.  The other Brett-Brett Wolfe is a first choice if he is available.

+1 on both counts

In the case of who should do an inspection, think of the selling dealer as playing the role of a realtor.  They are basically working for the seller and it really isn't appropriate to use them for inspection.

Congrats.  We did it a little over a year ago.  One of the best decisions we ever made.  Good luck and good hunting.  ^.^d

Thanks Scott, I am off to Texas on the 15Th of May, I talked to Mel today and i will be meeting with him then to look at a few Coach's. And yes even we are a couple of years away from enjoying our coach living in it will be a lot of fun. Just another adventure. ;D

Andy,

Good luck and happy hunting. I was dealing with Stewart. Nothing but praise for MOT and the way they treated me. Just wasn't the right coach for us.

Hi folks,

This is my first post. Sorry to barge in on this discussion, but it is right down the alley of the question we are facing.

We have been speaking with both MOT and FOT in a search for our first coach. We're committed to Foretravel, but am looking for the best way to handle the PDI. It looks like there may be some possibilities coming up and I would like to arrange for some third party assistance. I would appreciate any recommendations from any of you that have gone this route. I'll be constantly lurking here, trying to continue absorbing the great information you kind people provide. Can also PM, if preferred.

Hoping to join you soon on the road!

Don

Hi Don
Check for Brett Wolfe. He is a member here Wolfe 10. He knows the Foretravel line very well. If not traveling I think he is located in Texas. Not far from Nac. Best of luck with your next coach!

Hi Raymond,

Followed your recommendation and am communicating with Brett. Looks like he might be available when I go down next week.

I hope things go well with this. I have so much to learn, but can't wait!!

Many thanks for all of the PMs I got from people. You guys are fantastic.
