Post by: Irwin on May 26, 2014, 10:21:13 pm
Does anyone on this most knowledgeable forum know if a 1996 U 270 Foretravel has an Allison VIM. (Vehicle Interface Module)  and where it could be mounted?
Thanks,Irwin

If it's the same thing as the ECU, in our 2003 it's in the curbside bay with the Manabloc (water distribution manifold).  Here's a photo

2003 U320 Anybody know where tranny ecu connects to data link (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=18592.msg128148#msg128148)

On my 95 I have a port that resembles the one in your photo. It's under the dash above your left knee right next to the Cummins port.

On my 95 U280 that ECU is on the firewall left of the steering column.
