Vudu dvd/blueray to play on tv or other device - Free?
Will this be like hulu, free for a while?
UltraViolet - digital copy of dvd/blueray downloaded to your device and hd anytime?
Smart TV; displays HD broadcast and stream video, and direct connect to tv usb hd, video talking, oh my :o
Man, must have been distracted and/or asleep for a couple years - I thought TIVO was high tech bought lifetime membership - I think it is obsolete ???
Everything is setting up to be wireless internet based.
How complicated a password will I need? Is 8 character enough w alpha and special?
Tivo is certainly not obsolete, well assuming it's a Premiere or newer model. We have ours in the hole left from removing the old Panasonic TV in the bedroom. "Hardest" part is getting it online to download program info, if you can connect it to a router or hotspot, it's well worth having to IMHO.
After getting parked, I usually have 4 priorities:
1. Hook up power and water
2. Get A/Cs running
3. Get internet connected (tap into campground wifi)
4. Antenna up - run Tivo channel setup
Why not just use XBMC? Available on all platforms. Hundreds of thousands of sources of movies and tv from all over the world. Won't work with dialup or satellite internet.

We do have primere tivo, tv works but I have found that the smart tv, keeps track of when programs are on. Hook up a hd and it will record-wow!
Xbmc won't work on the tv. Must have a computer hooked up. That's not all bad either, just would like to keep it simple. ;D
Interesting...my Smart TV won't do that (record TV). Definitely agree with Pierce, XBMC is great. We have a Raspberry Pi running Rasbpmc, if your TV supports CEC you can use your TV remote to control it. Very nice interface.
Scuba, maybe im wrong but the usb hd plugs in and plays from the smart hub direct. The "guide" has function that mimic record. Haven't tried it, maybe today. ::)
Would be interesting if it's possible, and very well maybe on yours, my Smart TV is 2 years old, it's antiquated technology. ;D
