Title: Ground Clearance
Post by: TAS69 on May 29, 2014, 09:32:55 pm
Was checking the crown where my uphill driveway transitions onto road. Pulling our tape tight at 228" with 124" touching hump in asphalt I had approximately 7" on either end off ground. I've concluded that I want at leas 7.5 inches of ground clearance. The U240 we are leaning towards purchasing has 228" wheelbase, does anyone know height from lowest point at center of chassis on a 95 U240?

That's the advantage of the later models with 8 air bags, hit the raise button and coach will raise about 6 inches, I would guess that at max you would have almost a foot clearance.

At normal ride height my coach just touches at the break over at the top of this ramp (where I store the coach).  Raised it easily clears.

In my barn on dirt floor, my 95 U240 sits at 12" alone entire wheel base, but if you have a step that would be about 6"(mine is missing) that you would lose giving about 6" at e front door step.
