I don't know if any of you remember but I posted not too long ago about how I wished there was an outlet on the street side of the galley, and after much searching, happened to find one on the underside of the cabinet, in the corner above the countertop. When we're plugged in to shore power, we can plug the espresso machine in there and everything is fine. But if we're boondocking, and using the inverter, we can plug the coffeemachine into any outlet we want.... except that one. This to me simply doesn't make sense. I can't imagine this was set up that way on purpose, but looking at the inverter, I sure don't see how I'd wire that outlet in. There's no indication that that circuit, or any other for that matter, has been disconnected. Does anyone else with a similar vintage u280 have any light to throw on this? That dern coffee machine simply works best on the streetside countertop. Anywhere else and it's just in the way...
My 94, u280 has that outlet only on shore power, same circuit as the washer/drier ^.^d
Well isn't that... wierd. Near as I can figure that one is the only outlet in the whole coach that is only wired for shore power. Oh well. I guess the machine will sit on that counter unless we want coffee in which case we move across the galley. Oh well. That's roughin' it, right?
Is your microwave close to this outlet? And the micro is on the inverter?
Why not wire the cabinet outlet into the microwave outlet?
Or maybe just make a short extension cord that plugs into the micro outlet and comes out near the cabinet where you need it?
On my '94 ALL of my 110 outlets are on the inverter side.
We have several outlets that are "not on inverter", like washing machine, refrigerator, vacuum, hot water tank, etc. This is by design and for us a blessing, as we used these outlets for high wattage items, like space heaters. While on shore power, if I plugged a space heater into an outlet that works on inverter & shore/generator, and in the middle of the night or when we are away, we lose shore power and the inverter automatically switches on, our house battery bank would be depleted and maybe damaged. Our inverter switch is always on so our electronics transfer to inverter without a burp.
Correct. What I should have said......ALL of the 110 outlets available for peripherals are on inverter. The high use appliances already installed are not. Except microwave....which is.
