I was checking the fluid level in the HWH reservoir per my owner's manual. After finding the fluid level OK I then tried to do an auto level per the book and the way I have been doing it since we got the coach.
The driver's rear jack does not extend. When I try to manually actuate extending thru use of the left rear toggle level the right rear jack extends. Same with actuating the right toggle--the right jack extends.
So, what do I do now? Am I doing something wrong?
Add more ATF with the jacks extended. Retracted it might overflow a bit so be prepared.
Thanks Bob. Heading out to do it now as it looks like rain. I found it is easier to remove the right grill (four screws) and then do check and fill if necessary. Back in awhile.
Holds 4 quarts if memory serves me. Your test was my old test.
I just replace a kick down cylinder on the front of my system.
The folks at HWH are great.
Here is their direct link. Lots of good info...don't find it? Call them.

If the jack works manually, but not on auto level, sounds like the control box has a problem. If you download the manual for your jack system and go through the troubleshooting section it will indicate what the problem is, or call hwh and talk to Randy.
HWH manual came with the coach, but no indication of the problem I am having.
My fluid level is up and was up (thanks, Bob) so fluid level is not the problem. When I took the filler/breather off I immediately noted there was nothing to keep "stuff" out so I cut a piece of vacuum filter foam and put it in the filler. It will not go down into the tank and cannot come out unless the cap is removed from the filler/breather assembly.
We are leaving Tuesday for Green Bay so I will wait to contact HWH when we return.
There is a valve manifold up front and I think one around the rear wheels for the purpose of manually operating the jacks. I dont know what all is there and all of the intended functions, but you may want to check the alignment of these valves per the tech. manual and make sure that all valves are in the required positions. Have a great day ---- Fritz
Thanks, Fritz. But why would the toggle switch that is supposed to (and always did) operate the left rear jack now only operate the right jack? Is it possible a wire came off on the bottom side of the control panel? And yet is still operating the right jack?
Just throwing out ideas. I would think a 25 year old system would be so "frozen" together after all this time that nothing would work loose by itself.
This may not be the answer but surely is the same basic design as the 610s on our old 93 GV. The system works off a ground wire that is on each jack and needed to "sense" this connection for it to work correctly. I think maybe you have a bad connection on this one jack and that is why it will not do what you want it to do. Undo the screw holding it on jack and clean well then replace and at same time take apart the connection and spray some electrical cleaner or? into it. Maybe this will sort it out.

Well ---- In order for that jack to operate it has to have hydraulic pressure to it. So, the control valve is being operated for some reason or the control valve for that jack is not seating and when you go to operate the other jack, this one goes instead. It is hard to diagnose this kind of thing without checking pressures here and there and checking voltages at the control solenoids. Sounds like a trip to the leveling guy who has all of the stuff needed for a good diagnoses. You also need some good electrical and hydraulic diagrams to know where to check. Sounds a little weird alright, but fixable I'm sure. Have a great day ---- Fritz
This is exactly why I mentioned the ground wiring as I was having similiar problems if I remember right and after talking to HWH they said -check the wires. I did have a ground wire problem . and as we all know ground wire problems create many weird things on light etc, so I would definitly look at the at least it is simple. I finished up taking every one off and going thru the whole sytem just to be sure they were all good. Never a problem after that.

As you can imagine ??? After our little stuck in the asphalt drive incidence, we had an issue with one of the fron jacks not extending. Percussion persuasion didnt work but the wire.. now that was different. Held on by a thread, cleanded the screw, new end and no more problems. Old Faithful was an 88.
Its worth a look ^.^d I agree with JohnH
