Title: HWH slide room poblem, y-adapter possible fix
Post by: Tom Lang on June 26, 2014, 01:06:02 pm
My 2003 is I the shop with slide room issues.

The tech called HWH, and a possible $20 fix (plus labor) is on order.

Apparently this fix will hold the vacuum on the bladder while the slide is moving. Hope so. I'll let you know in a week.

Ever since my problem appeared, I have wondered why after pulling a vacuum, it only monitors vacuum for the purpose of stopping slide motion, rather than restarting the vacuum pump.

Odd.  My pump routinely comes on during the process if I haven't been fast enough to deflate, extend, then re-inflate. Wonder if that was a 2003 change?  I know stopping the slide motion during a cycle is not good for my slide (Train).  Maybe it doesn't matter so much on the other mechanisms?

I should call HWH and see what this y adapter does.

According to the service writer, it causes the pump and vacuum generator to continue to pull a vacuum on the bladder while the slide is moving.

I was told the y adapter did the trick, and the slide works now.

When I changed the slide seal on our bedroom slide hwh sent a y adapter along with the seal, but no instructions on how to use it, and that was 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear from them. They keep saying you are on the list for a tech to call. Hard to be patient after 2 weeks.

Apparently my seal was fine, just not holding vacuum and preventing the room from moving. The magical y adapter was added, and all is well. I was expecting this to cost big bucks, I got off easy.
