I'm having my Steering gear box rebuilt. Since I lost most of the hydro fluid I want to go a head and replace the filters in the reservoir.
I read the post about replacement, but it leaves me with a couple questions.
1. I can't cross deference the Nelson 83101B called for in the text.
2. How many filters are in the canister?
Thanks!
Try
84101B - you'll have better luck. These are available from Ryder Fleet Products:

Seems to vary by year and model of coach, and difficult to predict. Best to pull the top off the tank, remove the old oil, and see what you've got.
my 95 U240 has three(3) filers number 84101B cost me 13.60 each.
If you are doing the job yourself, carefully unscrew the inside wingnut & spring & washer, and don' t let them fall to bottom where there are large hose fittings.
We have 3 stacked filters. Suck old fluid out with drill pump, etc, probably better than trying to bottom drain and get a leak tight resealing of drain plug.
The top comes off by removing two bolts from clamp top halves. Note that a small end nests into large end, and if not put back the same way, the top will leak.
Clean off any rust around top and many replace the square round rubber gasket for an improved chance of no leaks.
Don't think there is a cross reference to the Nelson filters for a different brand.
Thanks, the correct part number always helps.
I saw the correct part number referenced in other posts, on other forums, but did not want to take a chance that Foretravel used a differant part than SOB.
