Title: 95 U300 Front Pocket Door
Post by: Hans&Marjet on June 30, 2014, 03:33:15 pm
Need some help, DW was in  the bathroom and could not slide the pocket door open to the kitchen area (WTBI) coach. I finally forced the door open enough to get her out ;D .
How can i remove the door to see what is stopping the closure..???

Thanks

Hans

I had some difficulty with mine, a loose piece of metal.  Look either in front, or behind the door at the top (which ever is accessable) and you should see a panel that is removable (a few screws) to get at the mechanism.  You may find something similar in yours.

An alternative to Brad's solution is the very common blue insulation issue. A piece of the insulation (hard foam, maybe 1 1/2" thick) falls down and prevents the door from opening. Last time I was down there I asked Foretravel to fix it for me. Dave Flannigan told me he'd be happy to charge me several hundred dollars to do it but suggested I simply slide a yardstick beside the door and push the foam out of the way. Worked like a charm and I've carried a yardstick since (never had to use it though). Incidentally, that's the same door I had the issue with.

I don't have a photo of it but I think if you peer in there with a bright flashlight you should be able to see the foam. Good luck.

Looking at the 300 layout if you have a closer next to that door (as long as it is easy to get at) there should be a removable panel on that wall adjacent to pocket and you will be able to work on it thru there
