Referring to the Air Schematic B-2254 for the U320, can someone tell me which line supplies air for the cylinder that moves the step well cover?
I can't find that device on this schematic, but knowing which air tank and or which of the numbered lines are supply would help.
Thanks and Happy Independence Day!
Dick
Dick, on mine I traced it to Front Brake Left Tank line 39. On my diagram it shows the slide cover on line 39 at the bottom right of the page.
Thank you Barry,
Sure enough, it is there on my schematic too.
I am thinking about putting a solenoid in that line as others have done. Do you have a photo that identifies this line under the front end?
I'm not sure if you did this, but would like to hear how wire solenoid and run wires to a switch. And where best to mount switch, etc. Photos always help me. :)
Dick are you anywere near us here just up over the border as I have done this mod and it is simple especially with the fact we can walk under coach here. Simple fix.

Assuming the air line only controls step slide and nothing else, use a 3-way solenoid to expel captive air when closed. 1/8" NPT solenoid will work just fine. Every coach is different, so our wire run will not help you.
On my coach, the slide cover regulator is supplied by an air line from the entry step regulator. I had a major air leak with the air-cylinder. Rather than replace the cylinder, I capped that line, disconnected the air-cylinder, and utilize the step cover manually.

Mike, this is why putting the solenoid inline on that air feed is a good idea. You turn the switch on to operate the slide then once you have it open just flip this switch again and no air goes to it-so none lost. Saves having to manually operate it.
