I've got some fairly deep pitting on a couple of slide pins and I'm going to replace them. I've got a question for the people who have replaced the pins as to which part number they used for the replacement-
KIT15016 is the replacement pins that is specced for my brakes IIRC which look exactly like the existing pins and are smooth except for the slot in the middle for the pin retainer-

But on ebay, a few KIT15013 show up that have a couple of fancy o-rings which looks like it might aid in keeping crap out of the pin bushings-

Does anyone know if these are compatible with our brakes or has anyone used them for their replacement pins?
I just replaced mine a couple of months ago. I would recommend finding the correct part number. I think I would continue to look for 15016 kit, and also add the helper springs while you are in there. They may not make a lot of difference, but it may not take a lot of help.
I would make several calls if they don't turn up on Ebay. I found a pretty wide margin on the price depending on who I called for pricing.

Try Fleet Pride Parts stores for Merritor parts.

I'll be the Guinea Pig. I needed a set of pins and these were half the price. I'll let you know.
I had some chrome bubbling up that showed when I wire-wheeled at during my rotor change. I ground off the loose stuff and put the pins back in as I couldn't get a new pair in time.
I did the same thing regarding mine. I'll change them out next time I get a chance.
I keep finding that these are specced only for Prevost applications but I have no idea what is different since it shows the brakes to be the same ones we use.
Did you by chance contact Meritor to ask if they were interchangible ?
Please post your findings.
I did not. But somebody else is welcome to give that a shot. I have a feeling what the answer is going to be...since most likely the people are just going to read it off the computer screen.
