Title: Entry Door Window
Post by: Adam Byler on July 26, 2014, 09:12:00 am
Good morning, I need a replacement window for my entry door on my 97 U295, The window is clouded and cant see out of it. I called Penisula Glass and they are saying 5 weeks out. Does anyone have any suggestions on who might be able to help me? I removed it from the frame and cut it apart thinking I could clean it but there is a white glaze on the glass that wont come off. I tried everything I can think of other then trying to buff it out. I could deal with the 5 week period if I could get it cleaned and reinstall. I have the black windshield caulk but am getting convinced that this might be one project that I cant fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Adam

Don't know if there is any truth to it but i've been told that that white stuff will dissolve with vinegar.  Worth a try if you havent.

Howdy Adam,
I had some "window creep" repaired here:  RVFogDr.com (http://www.rvfogdr.com/)
I think they specialize in Foggy windows.  They have a great facility and service.
Good Luck, Dave A

I have had great luck with similar "clouiness" using CLR which seems to clean anything I try with it. It also will not harm paint etc so worth a try I would say.

You might try installing a piece of plexiglass while waiting for the new window.

I found a local glass company here in San Antonio that will order me the glass for $80 dollars. It will take 5 to 10 working days to get it. I have to put it back in my old frame but much better deal the the 500$ and 6 weeks from Motion Glass. I guess there is a local manufacture of thermo pane windows in SA. They do special orders.

I have had house roof skylight, temper glass, dual pane with UV coatings, ordered and picked up in less than a week, here in the DFW area.  6 weeks is crazy.
