Title: Where are all the Foretravels?
Post by: Dan Stansel on August 01, 2014, 10:52:07 am
As I read this forum and travel I do not see many Foretravels on the road, but then again this country is big.  How many owners are not on the forum?  I know I have met some owners who have no interest.  I think some mention and connection to "Foretravel " would help the Forum as this forum certainly benefits Foretravel.  Maybe there should be a census (list) of all owners and locations.  The Grandvention I went to in Mineola mentioned the forum.  I think the forum has gained in popularity and there are strength in numbers.  Almost all motorhome brands have some sort of blog.  Certain brands are pushing their advertising to become the top of the market with quality and some are trying to do it with mass production.  Foretravel is still the highest quality and I think this forum proves it.  Thank goodness we are attached to a star.  DAN

I have seen 1 other Foretravel on our local lake... Lake Greason in Arkansas. Sure there have been others just not while I am there. Lots of Bounders... and other sob's. Really see more travel trailers than any thing else..

Good question. Just got back from Hearthside Grove in Petoskey, MI. The guy that parked us said that I was just the 2nd Foretravel he has seen in two years of parking guest. Tons of Prevost's and a lot of King Aires.

I just returned from a 3000 mile round to the East coast and must have seen hundreds of motor homes on the road, but not a single Foretravel.

More Foretravels in Texas than other states, my usual run from Va to Nac & return, rarely see an other Ft.

I recently joined the ForeForum to learn more about these grand coaches and always keep an outlook for one as I work my way around Texas and saw one today.

Southbound on Texas Highway-6 a ways out of Navasota Texas, about 10:20AM, beautiful coach pulling a blue color vehicle.

On the way to Texas last month saw one on the way Nac to Dallas saw two.  On the way home to va saw one.  On a 6000 mile trip to Spokane saw three and had one pull in next to me too.  The last time that happened was 2002 in Yellowstone.

In Moses Lake, WA we have seen one FT and the DW was the one who spotted it but it was past me before I could check on it. Since it was northbound on WA Highway 17 just a mile or two north of I-90 I assumed it was John Haygarth. We were in the SUV, though.

We've never seen one in state parks or COE campgrounds. I saw one (the one that made me start looking at GVs) at the Chevron station run by the Tribe just as you cross the slough onto Fidalgo Island near Anacortes, WA. He had just bought it for $25,000 he said. For all I know it was the one I bought several years later. :P

Seldom seen on the road, however, when I was at Colton Truck Repair I can say they had 8 rv bays and in 3 of them were Foretravels. Maybe that's where they are. At least mine.

Almost every day I see a 89 OREG as I move about town.  It has been parked in the same spot for at least four years and before that was parked nearby for several more.  It has a history and at one time was a nice coach.  It passed thru several owners and the present owner had it for sale for 10 grand, what a joke.  It has been vandalized, windows broken, graffiti, and it is filthy.  I now cannot find a phone number for owner.  I though that he would eventually get tired of its appearance on his property and maybe just give it away.  If he did I would part it out and scrap it, not good for much else.  Its sad.

In my travels around California,  on any given full day of driving the interstate,  I see each another Foretravel going the other way maybe half the time.  Usually spotted too late to wave with a 120mph closing velocity.

Look for the air horns,  uniquely placed.

Saw three in Eagles Nest two weeks ago! One was an older Grand Villa near the West Lake rv park.

Been driving to NAC from Virginia. In Mississippi tonight and will get to MOT tomorrow afternoon. Haven't seen a single Foretravel on the highway or in the campgrounds. Should finally see some tomorrow as I approach the "motherland".

Well, I finally see Foretravels wall to wall. Of course, I'm docked here at the MOT mothership in NAC. Go figure.

I am staying in Hatfield, PA right now and I saw a gorgeous grand villa driving south on Route 309 the other day.  I wonder if that's a forum member.  It looked to be freshly stripped of decals so it was bare white with some lighter spots where the decals were.
