I have a 2003 U295. The dashboard vent controls will not function. AC blows only through the defroster vents on top. Probably a vacuum issue. How do I trouble shoot this issue? I noticed a meter on the vacuum pump but it does not seem to move. Please advise on how to properly trouble shoot and what to look for.
Thank you

We just replaced the vacuum pump in our coach. Simple job (although we called an Auto AC repair guy) and the pump is only about $100 and not much labor. I do remember that the old pump had slightly different wiring than the new style, but it was a very easy install for someone who knows what they are doing.
thank you for the replies. Both were very helpful. I believe my problem is the pump and I am going on line now to find a new one. Appreciate the help.
Ford diesel pickups use an electric vacuum pump that is inexpensive and easily available. The original vacuum pump used by Foretravel may be very expensive and difficult to locate now. It's been a couple of years since I replaced my vacuum pump but that was the case at that time. If you call Foretravel they'll tell you how to find an inexpensive replacement pump at your local auto parts store or from the Foretravel parts department.
Here's a photo of the Ford vacuum pump I received from FOT.
They charged me $240.66 plus $17.03 shipping on 2/25/14!
I would definitely look somewhere else. They about $50 from Amazon or eBay.
Easy install. If you will be replacing an air pressure/venturi vacuum generator and want, I have some photos that might help if you want.
Bubba,
If the vacuum reservoir is leaking that could cause your problem too. Mine looked like a large Pork 'n Bean can painted black and a bit rusty. I patched it when we replaced the pump, but eventually had to replace it. Dorman Part #47076, $14.04 including tax at Autozone.
