Well floors are done, 2 custom cabinets and dinning table being made. Sticks and bricks is cleaned out pulling out of the driveway for the last time tomorrow. Retiring at the end of the year, new adventures begain.
Yea...When we got rid of all of our house stuff it was like a heavy weight was removed from our shoulders. :D
It sure was a chore emptying out the house, but nice to be done with all that, and no grass to mow.
Congratulations Bruce and Linda.
We are wading through the process now, all the shop tools are finally gone.
Target is 2015 to "turn the page" off on a new adventure.
Bruce & Linda, congratulations, so happy for you all, you two were the 1st FT people I met, will always remember your great hospitality....I know you'll love life on the road....many happy trails in your new adventure!
Its hard, but "weight lifted" is a good description ^.^d
Next page, is kids saying "you what"? Then deciding among themselves, what kid and whose house will take you when your old-now that's Love :))
Full timing ----been thinking about this for some time . I like mowing grass ETC . I can see the lure of the road . So far 4 months at a time has been my fix to cure that urge . My toys , tractors , shop stuff , trails through the woods, ETC , would be tough to give up . Our connection with our local community and church would also make it tough to leave . Now friends of 50 years figure in there some where too . Yes we have family here also . I do not think it will work for us . For those of you that can ,I say good for you and wish you well and happiness down the road and look forward to camping with you to hear your stories of full timing . Brad Metzger
We're in the same boat as Brad Metzger except that we full-timed on a 32' sailboat for 5 years in the 1980s so we know the process of trying to determine which things we owned and which things owned us.
A home base is as close as we can get to full-timing with forays south in search of warm weather and warm friends. But family and ties to the community bring us back. Plus, in the summer, north central WA is a pretty decent place to be with easy getaways to nice spots.
Have fun... drop by. :)
Craig
Well we do have family and friends here, but we will be flying here every year around Christmas. I'm not retired "yet" so we are here until at least March of 15 to get every thing sorted out
Bruce,
Congratulations and good luck to you and Linda. We hope to be not far behind.
