Title: cooling system maintenace/ repair,
Post by: TAS69 on August 13, 2014, 11:36:20 pm
Hello again, We are getting ready to remove the inner-cooler and radiator and wanted to hear from any one who might have been there done that with an older run hot unit. Gary explained that dropping the unit out from underneath is really the only option.
Have also heard that if radiator won't clean up well and hold good pressure that recore is only option for the 95 style unit? Lastly the fans are supposedly needing replaced at this age and mileage, is FOT are only source for these?
Any input is most definitely appreciated.                            Thanks, Tom ,Hope and Sarah

I remember a post about a year ago that talked about a shop on the south east coast that rebuilt the cooling fan motors for a very reasonable price.
Maybe somebody can supply the exact info on that business.

Try J&S Hydraulics Sutton WVA Wayne Beckett, another forum member used them and was pleased with their work, and prices.

Actually meant the fan blades themselves. Are the motors a 100k rebuild item? Was told that even though they aren't fiberglass these blades will come apart and cause considerable damage to radiator core.

Wonder what ground shipping would cost to West Virginia?
