Following in the venerable flite2010's footsteps, I repaired my minor shower drain leak with the Wingtite product which was about 75 bucks delivered (How To Fix Your Leaking Shower Drain | Remove and Replace Leaking Shower Drain | (http://www.wingtite.com/)). The process is similar to the Wingtite video although I found it a bit more difficult to do the vertical cut. Basically, you remove the old drain assembly, clean the 2" pipe and install the Wingtite drain. Here's some photos of the process ffr.
