Title: mid-entry Unicoach models
Post by: WaltH on August 17, 2014, 02:54:14 pm
A thread in the Classifieds section made reference to the rarity mid-entry Unicoaches (vs. Unihomes). I did a search, but I could not find what I was looking for. Out of curiosity, how many mid-entry Unicoaches did FT manufacture? (I understand they tended to be more of a custom order, so I suspect there weren't many.) Were they more common in any particular length or model year? Thanks.

I had a 1998 295 mid-entry (now Dave and Dolly's) and I asked James that question.  I was told that year, four mid-entry's were made,  one each, 36" 295 and 320.  One each 40' 295 and 320.  No 270  mid mid-entry's  I can only assume that other years would have had somewhat similar build production except for specific orders.  Norm H.

Every GV320 is mid-entry too.  Not exactly sure but I believe they were made between 2000 and 2003.  If you haven't seen one before just Google Images "Foretravel GV320".  Most (if not all) had a slide, some had a tag, some don't.

I saw the one 1998 U320 40' mid entry last spring south of Ft. Worth.  I circled back and met the owner.  The owner was looking to downsize, mentioned he was selling, and the service shop owner bought the coach that day!

I also met Dr. Spoor in NAC, when he was selling his custom 2003, Uxxx 36' mid door.  It is very rare to find either a mid door Unicoach, or an after 2000 Grand Villa.  I count myself a very lucky owner.

That is a great and unique looking coach. Have to see if I can find some more examples. Were those all in the 40-foot length? Looking at Barry's page, I only see the 2001 GV320, which came in a 40-foot model. (I was able to determine from Barry's site that 24 of these, all apparently special order, were built between 2000 and 2003. I assume they were all 40-foot models. Rare indeed.)

Dave's coach was purchased from the foretravel dealer in Tampa Fl., but I believe the original owners were from Virginia.  Those papers were included when I sold it to Dave so he should be able to research that .  I had to check the sales sheets for the safe combo when I got it.  Norm H
