Title: Has anyone installed a WRT111SFAB Whirlpool Fridge?
Post by: corndog254 on August 27, 2014, 09:12:02 am
I decided to put this out as a separate question instead of adding it to the Fridge Problems thread.  I want to replace my RM7832 Dometic, which has failed, with a fridge that will fit in the same space, so I'm going with the short 60in ones.  The old Whirlpool that several folks have used in the past is no longer available.  The replacement is the 10.7 cf  WRT111SFAB which is just an inch or two taller.  This is the one I would like to use but I don't know if it will fit.  So, has anyone out there successfully installed one of these 10.7 Whirlpools without modifying the cabinets below?

BJ, that's the one we put in. We took out the cabinet underneath and tacked the refrigerator down. Later, when our place sells, we'll make an appointment with Dave Flanigan to build cabinets around the refrigerator. We're still discussing what we want, though, so the delay isn't all that bad. At this point our thinking is that we'd rather have the refrigerator on the floor and a cabinet above it rather than the other way around.

We took the doors off of the old refrigerator and it came out the coach door easily. Taking the doors off of the new one made it easy to bring in that way, too. Neither unit is very heavy, but you definitely want two people involved when going through the coach door.

Jo Ann wanted the stainless steel look, so that's what we got. So far we are quite happy with it, although sometimes we wish for just a bit more space.
