Good prices for the fuel and oil filters. If you get a chance to order ahead of time, Baldwin make an excellent filter (B495 about $11 at WestFleet, heavy duty truck oil filters, off road equipment oil filters, heavy (http://www.westfleet.com/filters/baldwin-oil.html)) and with the optional glass element, it meets B1441 specs: 8 micron nominal (50%, Beta =2) and 23 micron absolute (98.7%, Beta = 75) for about $30 (B495-MPG) I looked for an hour and finally found my OEM air filter for about $66 delivered. Going to order another as the last one took a week to get here.
Agree, the ground gets harder and harder every year. Rig seems lower too. I'm lucky with a pit and use a 5 gallon plastic tractor fluid container to drain into. Plastic bags work for the fuel filters but the oil filter is hard to get off without making a mess.

I also do my own oil etc changes and as Pierce have a pit so it is easy. Doesn't take many oil changes and a few mechanical fix's to pay for the outlay of Pit. Mine has been paid for 3 times already with the 240 and this 295. If I do the fuel lines it will get paid for again in savings.

Foretravel West is not quite open yet. I finally got medical insurance and getting my back done this next month and then will be ready for guest oil changes, etc. Getting insured has been a nightmare and even with my son being the Kaiser chief resident, our county has the wrong zip code so no parental coverage here but neighboring counties are OK. Ducks are finally in a row but just have to make sure my aim is on.
Pit is 40 feet long with air, juice, wire feed, etc, so just have to make the 1/2 mile backing exercise to get up to it.

Just have to be used to using your mirrors to backup. Reverse is good because of the gearing. You want to be going dead slow as several trees and a couple of telephone poles go by the passenger's mirror only 6 inches away. Reverse allows you to even stop on a really steep hill, look it over and then resume at a slow pace. When we were pouring the concrete driveway, one of the big mixers got some wheel hop backing in the dirt. I told him to go to the bottom and try again but he chose poorly and started to hop a couple of times. You never forget the sound of an axle snapping. Got 8 yards for free after they replaced the axle. The concrete was going off after 3 hours in the drum and 104 degree weather so the free concrete is a bit rough. With the finished driveway, it's just about 5 minutes of being careful now.

Have been thinking about doing a time lapse video. Have rounded the small road at the top of the steep part so a 6 speed can go up forward, go into the road and then back the remaining distance to the house and pit. Four speeds will have too much torque converter slippage and the temp goes from 180 to 300 degrees in the 300 feet. That's where the nice ratio in reverse comes in.
Heading down is much more exciting with cold discs. Have to shift to neutral on the steep part as the engine torque overpowers the brakes.
Have cut into the corner at the top so a 40 footer can make the turn with only a couple of tries if backing.
Took the wrong turn while buying furniture in Juarez on a small street and arrived at a "T" where I had to reposition 16 times to make the turn. My 4107 didn't have power steering so was a struggle as it had to be moving to turn the steering wheel. Parked for the night in a small plaza but didn't realize there was an early morning street market. Got a few knocks on the door at 6 am.

I actually have no trouble in reverse and can get in and out pretty easily. Ruth will agree to my skills going backwards as she many times scratches her head followed by the comment" How the He-- did you get in that space?" Coach or car.

Not far at all. Just email when you are going to be in the area and we can all get together. You can take a look at the driveway and decide if you want to bring the coach up for a little while. Have built another pad under a tree with juice and water. Going to put in a small pond so maybe it will be done by then.

Latest small pad is blue crushed mine rock. Sure is sharp if you lie on it without a blanket. It's under some oak trees for good shade on our southerly exposure in the summer.

Punch a hole in the bottom of the filters with a metal rod or screwdriver and let them drain before you spin them off . makes the job less messy.
