Title: U280 air leak
Post by: Dan Noble on August 31, 2014, 04:58:33 pm
Hi,

I found an air leak on this device (hose came off)  Was going to put a wire on it to keep it on but wanted to know what it did first?  It's inside the front grill on the passenger side.  Picture attached

Thanks in advance,

Part of Vacuum system for heater/ac unit to control direction of internal deflector for system. Make sure hoses are in good shape then hook it up and clamp lines to nipple

Hi

replaced hoses with new and clamped.  Now a slight hiss from inside the round ball shaped gizmo the hoses run to on left?  Guess this needs replacement also?  Can someone help me with what it is so I can replace?

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure it creates vacuum through the Bernoulli effect, which means it blows compressed air across an opening which creates an updraft, like a tall chimney with a wind blowing across it. My coach has an electric vacuum pump but someone on this forum must have the air powered one like yours. If they can hear air hissing inside theirs too yours is probably okay. If it works the way I think it does it should last practically forever because it won't have any moving parts to wear out.
