Craig,

Why are you replacing them:

Contact peninsula glass in Washington also.  Foretravel stocks their windows as replacements for yours normally.

What was "replaced" when you had this done? Do they reuse the glass and just disassemble and reseal it?

If the glass is not badly etched, it can be reused.  But, the glass is not the significant part of the price.  Said another way, if the glass is not reusable, the cost is not significantly greater.

Brett is correct Suncoast will remove window take it apart clean reseal and replace.  I personally did not need any new glass on my windows so all I can say is that other coach owners who needed new glass did not seem upset about how it was being handled. The only thing I do recall was that when Suncoast needed to order glass specific they would be delayed due to delivery usually overnight.
All in all a good experience both times I was at the facility.

We received an online quote for SunCoast Designers as follows:

1998 Foretravel Motorcoach - U320
7 Insulated Windows - No Driver
Flushmount: No - Not Verified
$1735.81

This was only a due diligence quote and we did not speak with anyone from the company.  If I had, the items I need addressed along with the snaking issue would be the updating of the perimeter seal so we don't have the weeping grey sealant we now have, and if they replace the weatherstripping that has deteriorated on the existing units.  Has anyone had their windows done in this fashion?

Peninsula and one at least of the window rebuilders make up aluminum pieces to replace the moving parts

Suncoast does not replace weatherstipping, though they said they did when I set up my appointment.  I had all my windows done by them.  The only thing I would do differently is to have them replace all the outside windows.  The cost was only $25 more per window.  They do an excellent job cleaning the windows, but I didn't know how much etching I had until the job was all done and couldn't be changed.  You have to check operation of each window after installation to make sure they slide easily.  They have a machine that sets the spacing between glass panes, but the window only has to be off a little to make it hard to move.  I only had a problem with the drivers' window-the most important one.  They tried to lube it, but ended up running it though the process again.  They were very easy to work with.

Brett
Did they change out the OEM grey weeping seals on all the windows?  If so, what do they use now?
Off topic, in hind sight..do you wish you had had this done while at Xtreme Graphics during your FBP?

Bill,

They didn't change any seals.  Sure I wish I had gotten new windows when Xtreme did their work, but they had already taken all my money!  Before I went with the repair I had gotten a quote from Peninsula for new windows and one from James for installation.  Even just doing the windows that had squiggles was almost three times the cost.
