We just installed our third shower bar. The two replacements were the same manufacturer & brand as our original. First two were gold color and over time they discolored, our third bar is chrome for a change.

Bar easily comes off the wall with removal of four wall screws after lifting metal trim cover. We use clear silicone on screws to keep water out of wall.
Since our bars seemed to have a few scratches from the center slider part moving up and down, we decided to prevent movement with a #6 ¾" stainless screw in a hole drilled into the back of the center slider through to the center post.
Looks good Barry, you said you replaced the gold one a couple of times. Do you remember where you got them, I need the bar, and hose assembly, seems as gold is a little out of style.
Manufacture's web site show four different finishes/colors

Others sell this rod with the above colors.
We gave up on the original hose years ago for a solution that maximized our water saving by using a kitchen sprayer hose and handle as shown in our finished photo.
Every time we remove our hand from our sprayer the water immediately turns off. We love this setup.
Because our original shower faucet does not a way to reduce water volume, we added a shower ball-type valve where the shower hose connect, also in finished photo.
I don't see the rod marketed with hose, call manufacturer to see if original hose is available, if it is needed. There are also separate hoses out there that may work.
Thanks Barry I'll give them a look.
