GM,
Removed my very greasy Air Dryer this morning. Overhaul kit arrived yesterday from Ebay at $29.95.
Going to clean it up and get started. After seeing how dirty I got getting it out, I don't know if I can get my wife to help me put it back- I don't think I can lift it up thru the bands myself given the tight area.
Wish me luck!
Dan,
Suggestion for the future. Air dryers are such an important safety device (brakes and suspension) that I suggest being very careful to get only OE dryer parts (i.e. from the factory that made the dryer) vs after market parts that MAY be "just as good".
Most of the less expensive parts fit into this latter category.
Excellent suggestion. Ebay seem to work well for many things, but I am always leery of the quality of the items offered there.
Hi Brett,
These appear to be OEM Bendix NOS near as I can tell. All the parts including the grease.
Our dryer went out recently, and we're replacing it with a new one. Certainly, it's more expensive, but as I learned - this can leave you stranded on the side of the road and I just don't want to take the chance again. Our Haldex dryer has to come from Georgia, so they are not readily available as I had hoped.
