Title: Roof Colman TSR Not cooling

Hi

One of my roof unit a Colman TSR is working but not really cooling. Acting like it has low freon. I was told it is a close unit so it can not be recharged. Short of buying a new roof unite any thing I can do? If I have to buy a new one do all the Colman unites have similar footprint? Is it just replace and bolt it on.

Ted,

Apparently fan is running. Can you tell if the compressor is trying to start & run?

Have you taken off the cover and given it a good cleaning??

Yes, start by cleaning the EVAPORATOR as well as the condenser. Many times the evaporator is totally clogged with dirt-- the filters are not really that effective. Both are done from the roof. You will need to remove some of the sheet metal to access the evaporator.
