My 1996 coach has a compressor driven cold plate for the icemaker. Not only does it make ice quickly, but it keeps the freezer at about 0F. Has anyone tried to add one to the NDR refrigerator that came in the 2005 coach. I am considering either an Adler Barbour unit or possibly trying to find the original Dometic parts that are in the older refrigerator. It couldn't be mounted in the base of the refrigerator but possibly in one of the equipment bays.
My 96' U320 has a conventional 120v compressor and "L" shaped evaporator plate similar to a Uline ice maker in the freezer. It keeps the freezer at 0 degrees like you said--- I use it to pull down the temp when I'm firing up for a trip. Works great. Wish the crappy dash AC worked as well!
