Title: Cargo bay TV
Post by: sedelange on September 12, 2014, 06:30:57 am
Due to upgrades at home, I have an extra HDTV and I am considering adding it to one of the cargo bays. How many people that have them, actually use them?  How May wished they had them or regret they installed one.

Howdy Steve,
We have a 32" LED mounted in the bay. It's on a swing down mount, that rotates up and locks into place for travel/storage.  We made a slip-on cover to protect the screen.
We use it quite often and its a great upgrade.  The electric and cable outlets were already installed on our model of coach.
Good Luck,  Dave A

Mine has the power and cable outlets also. Is 32" big enough of do you wish it was bigger?

Our first bay TV was a 26" LCD, that I just recently replaced with the 32" LED.  IMHO its just about right size.  Of course, the LED provides a much better picture.

What model mount did you use, and where did you find it? I haven't yet been able to find a swing-down mount that I like.

I found mounts.  Morryde makes them. Here is a link. MOR/ryde TV Mounts (http://www.morryde.com/aftermarket/tv-mounts.html?page=5)

They have both horizontal and vertical units.

Ours coach came with one in our forward curb side bay.  After 7 years of not using in Anne made me remove it.  I guess we're just not sitting outside people.

We were considering a bay tv but concerned regarding the somewhat hostile temps developed in the bay being not conducive  to the environment necessary for the electronics/screen/etc.    Those who have one;  look forward to please comment.

Howdy Fiddler,
We've had ours installed for over 2 years.  In that time frame, we have experienced from near zero to triple digit temps.  So far, so good (knock on wood).  We do fulltime, so not sure if that has an impact on the life of TV.

We have a 26" Visio LED on a swing out bracket, never had a problem with it, and use it quite a bit. Especially during Alabama football season.
