After a year as Foretravel owners and regular short trips to our "home park", we are now ready for a two week adventure (work precludes a longer trip). We leave Canada on the evening of October 15 with first stop reserved at The Lakes RV Resort in Chowchilla, CA., Catalina Resort & Spa in Desert Hot Springs (6 nights) and then Rancho Oso Resort in Santa Barbara. We return home via Monterey and Delta Shores Resort & Marina in Isleton. As members of RPI the RV resorts are very affordable. We'll keep you in the loop with pictures as we travel and hope that any of you in those areas will get in touch so we can meet up. We can share stories of the legendary John Haygarth and our adventures in "The Pit". Geoff & Pat Haygarth
Sounds like great fun... Sure you guys will enjoy your first extended trip. We are at John and Ruth's over the pit right now :D What a view! And I don't mean from the pit :D We have used RPI parks as thousand trails members quite a bit and we have found them to be an excellent value. We just came from an RPI park (Holiday Park Resort) in Kelowna for a couple of nights on our way to Kaleden.

Time on the road builds confidence in yourselves and your Foretravel. Then a month, then two, then four. It just keeps getting better especially with the help and supports of Forum friends. Have a wonderful and safe trip.

Congratulations on your first trip. If you're like us, the more you use your Foretravel the more you will like it!
My longest trip to date was 11 days. It was fantastic. I look forward to the day we can spend more time on the road.
Hope your trip is great. Post some pics.

Not meaning to throw cold water on some plans but maybe rethink the Rancho Oso thing. The road is very narrow getting in and will not allow passing an oncoming unit in some places. We have scrapes on our coach when someone pulling six horses in a trailer couldn't back up. We had to unhook the car and back the coach WAY over to get them out. Other problem was lots of flies. Did I say LOTS OF FLIES??? This was in Sept-Oct of 2011. Other than that enjoy your first big trip. ^.^d
Thanks for the inside track on Rancho Oso,we'll revisit that plan. This is exactly why we posted the trip outline as we value all of your experience and knowledge gleaned through your trips around the US. For some reason our Foretravel details are not transferring over from our profile so, as an FYI, 1994 U240 36' (Ed & Evelyn former owners). Definitely will post pics as Geoff's cameras add as much weight as a battery! Geoff & Pat
Pat, now your info is showing but also add the build # and engine (Cat 3116)
