Title: Air pressure hose take up reel installation
Post by: Fiddler on September 23, 2014, 11:23:16 pm
Harbor Freight has a nice 50' auto take up reel with hose.  Would like to install this in the open area behind the access door aft of the DS rear wheel.  However,  routing a connecting hose from there to the existing PS air connector near the propane tank is a long route to opposite sides of the coach and opposite ends.  There must be a better way;  Any suggestions would be very welcome.

On our 99' U270, the Air Service hose comes direct from the wet tank which is in front of the drive axle and righ behind the bulkhead. I believe it is the only ⅜" nylon hose connected on the wet tank. Teeing into the line with the push on Tee's wouldn't be hard, but it does add one more possible leak source...

Connect hose reel to rear wet tank. Our coach did not come with an air chuck, so we connected a nylon air brake hose to wet tank with a ball valve. I am not remembering where I attached a brass fitting to the wet tank. We also use that new air hose to feed air to our tow car air piston brake through a 12-volt solenoid.
