Title: iSeries Tank Monitor
Post by: Wattalife54 on September 26, 2014, 08:50:53 am
A week ago I decided to attempt, yet another calibration of the tank level system. After a full day of :headwall: I ended up with worse results than before. Time for a change. I had looked at the iSeries over the last couple of years and decided to finally put the Audit 9T6 out of its misery.

I decided to mount the unit in the cavity left by the original smoke detector. It took a day for the wire run to the tanks. I was able to re-purpose the original Fresh/Grey/Black tank wiring for the run to the LPG tank. The entire installation process took about three days.

Calibration of the fresh/grey/black water tanks were quick and easy b^.^d . The LPG will need to be calibrated when it is empty. Setting up tank high or low alarms was straight forward and a very nice feature.

Nice installation! Good photos too. Use existing wiring a possibility? Did you have to run a new set to the F/G/B tanks? Possible to extend existing dash Audit wiring up to another location? Can't quite tell from your post.

Bob,

I see it is available for a pretty good price this weekend at Camping World. $117.08 is half price. Tank Monitor System Kit - Tech-Edge 326-K - Fresh Water Tanks - Camping World (http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/tank-monitor-system-kit/55603)

That is a sweet install. Gotta say, I like it better than the SeeLevel especially the single strp sensor.

The original wiring ran from the fresh/gray/black water tanks to the dashboard via the cable tray in the basement. Pulling the cable bundle back to the LPG tank from the dashboard was not an option. I found the wiring from the LPG tank that originally went up to the dash and cut/spliced it to one of the original tank wire runs. When I installed the new monitor wiring I ran an additional wire to the tank area which I spliced to the same wire which completed the run. All connections were soldered and heat shrunk.

I just called them and you are quite correct, the item is no longer available. It indicated there are 2 days left for the sale.  I blistered the ears of the CW rep about not taking the ad off when they were no longer available. Another reason on top of the negative Yelp reviews for never going there.

Nice looking system, and I especially like the alarm settings. Much more needed in a system that doesn't show all the levels all the time, but I like the fact that it is programmable to your own settings. Much less expensive than the seelevel 914 system. I looked at their website, but I couldn't tell if it allowed for a second display. Nice to have one in the utility bay while filling fresh or dumping tanks...

I contacted CW three weeks ago. They told me that they would pull the ad ASAP. I only use them when they have sales, otherwise no way.

I set the monitor to scan all of the tanks every minute. It will alarm if it is at limits each time.
