We stopped at Master Tech RV Service in Elkhart, IN to look and price the MCD Dual Day & Night blinds.
Did get the windshield measured for installation. Not much in display as their sells people were at a RV show in LA.
Anyone have any experience with Master Tech?
Any recommendations for what level of MCD blinds to install?
Can this be a "do it your self' installation project?
We did our own front windshield shade. Pretty simple except for the contortions one goes through to get it done. Oh! to be 25 and flexible.
Side shades require the window valences to come off to get the old shade out, not to hard, you need a long square drive bit.
You need power to the front shades. The others can be manual or they need power as well.
Front shades took a couple hours max.
We got the gold series, just a bit less sun shade density. Everything else is supposed to be the same.
We really like ours.

Here is the link to the installation and owners manuals. It will let you know if you want to try - also if the installer is doing it correctly. We have MCD day/night blinds and they are great.

I did ours as part of reupholstering the valances. It's pretty easy with them off. About $2300 but did not do the front.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
After visiting the other dealer in Elkhart and getting the run around, we decided to install the front blinds our self.
Will be talking to MCD today.
Keith and Roger, how did you deal the "dog house" covering the dash?
Slightly off topic but I replaced all of my side blinds with Budget Blinds of the self-retractable (simply push up or pull down in the center) insulated type for about $150 per window installed. Really like them.
Did away with the front blind entirely and had a cross-blind installed by Budget that blocks off any view of the interior from the outside. Since I put a sunshade on the outside of the big front windows I did not see the need except for something to block the view at night (no TV in the front).
Well as luck would have it, someone with a 98 Foretravel is arriving tonight at MCD to have their blind(s) installed.
MCD will use their coach to guide us in our installation of front windshield blinds.
Don't know if the 98 owner is on this forum, but if so, thank you.
A great opportunity to introduce them to the forum ;)
Would love to, but they are at the MCD factory in McKinney, Tx and we are home in Michigan.
We are arriving at the MCD factory on Sunday. If they are still there we will introduce them to the Forum. And any other Foretravel owners that arrive while we are there. We are stopping there to have shades installed on our way to the Oklahoma Grandvention.
