Title: Fuel and or Oil Treatment
Post by: Retired Navy Chief on October 04, 2014, 07:52:46 pm
What, if any oil and or fuel treatment do you use or have used.  Why did you discontinue use or continue to use?  Curious minds want to know.  David

No oil treatments-- use either Shell Rotella T or Delo 400-- staying with what the previous owner used.

Fuel treatments. NONE except as follows:

If storing summer grade diesel (i.e. #2 diesel) into cold temperatures, add an anti-gel (available at every Walmart).

If storing diesel more than 2 months in summer or 3 months in winter, add a BIOCIDE. Every marine store carries this, as boats have the same "diesel storage issues".

Fuel tank FULL to minimize condensation.

Per Michelin, tires inflated to maximum on sidewall/wheel specs.

Is this for storage, or under what conditions do you mean?

If the coach is going to sit for a month or more, the fuel tank is as full as it can be and has had biocide circulated through all systems (engine, generator, AquaHot).  No other treatments used.
