Can anybody tell me what this is,found it in the coach?
Could it be a cover for an antenna dish?
Trent
Maybe, thats a tabletop for the sterring wheel. Might be missing one of the adjustments pieces from what I see on the ground ^.^d
Are there slots on the back?
Looks like a table top that goes on the steering wheel so the DW can put a lamp or some pretty flowers etc. I won't mention that it is one of the more useless space wasting accessories that I have ever had. ( Shhhh, she is listening ).
Gary B
Gary, I will go along with you on that opinion. I made one for the DW and it hangs in the coach closet--got used twice.
Humpf....
We use ours as a spot for a basket that houses our keys (car and coach), golf GPSes, etc., plus it's where we drop off our cell phones and my purse. Far from space wasting ;)
I added a small round tablecloth to ours so it creates a "cave/tent" for one of of the dogs when they need a quiet, dark place to nap.
+1 Michelle. If we stop for more than a day, out comes the table.
Thanks ya'll,I was gonna use it as a cutting board.
Stump, you might want to rethink that notion. I am certain that that material is not NSF food grade plastic. :o
So does the steering wheel on the Unicoach models tilt up to where it is horizontal? That's the only way I can imagine this "table" working. Any photos of one installed? Just curious...
AW heck Stump, use it for cleaning fish a couple times :P :P . Won't hurt it a bit!! ;D
Not ours - there's still a slight tilt. Our table is homemade; Steve installed one longer "foot" and 2 shorter ones. The long one goes at 6 o'clock and the shorter ones around 10 and 2. That makes the table level while the steering wheel is not.
Stump's find looks like it would rest on the steering wheel at 12 o'clock and has 2 adjustable legs for 4 and 8 to help make the table level when it's installed.
Chuck, there are thoes rounded clips that the pic shows that hook on the top edge of wheel, the rear has an adjustable ladder. I will tak a picture of outs. ^.^d
The 88 wheel tilted more than tht 280.
Here ya go ^.^d
Thanks, John, that clears it up! No offense to those that use them, but I'm with Gary - a "Steering Wheel Table" is something I can definitely get along without.
Well the DW uses it for decor. I have had som pretty good Christmas presents under the tree we display there! :))
John,
Thank you for the picture from Camping World; it appears exactly like what we found in our closet but could not figure it out. (And thanks to the OP for asking the question in the first place.)
I have included pictures of the various components as its design is quite ingenious and very flexible. There are several slots on the back to adjust for various steering wheel sizes. There is also what appears to be a strap across the back but I do not know its purpose; maybe storage?
The top bracket is short and curved to go over the top edge of the steering wheel. The bottom piece is long to adapt for various angles of tilt.
The longer piece appears to be broken on mine and is missing the adjustable piece that fits onto the steering wheel. I may try to find a replacement. Does anyone know the name of the manufacturer?
Trent
Trent, that's it ^.^d
Never seen one of these "in person", but they appear to be pretty lightweight. If they just rest on top of the wheel, and do not have any kind of clamp on the legs to hold them in place, then I would guess the strap might go around one of the steering wheel "spokes" to secure the table?
Here is the user guide for the Wheeltopper. It also tells how to get parts if any are broken.
We used ours primarily to keep grandkids from sitting in the pilot seat and flipping all the switches and levers.
Monti, great Idea ^.^d
Monti,
Thank you very much; just what I needed.
Unfortunately, the website does not exist, but will try the phone number tomorrow.

I set up my steering wheel table thing-a-ma-jig.
looks like a great Beer Holder to me! But you need some pretzels.
My 90 model didn't have one of these, or at least I haven't found it yet.
Do you have any trouble with the beer riding there going down the highway?
I love PBR....shame shame shame....first the hipsters starting drinking it, now the roooooskies bought it :( The Russians Buy PBR - The Colbert Report - Video Clip | Comedy Central (http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/b5ni29/the-russians-buy-pbr)
I know, But I was drinkin it 'WAY before it was cool!!As long as they dont change the recipe!
Maybe they bought PBR because they got their hands on a few of the "skunk" beers Pabst drinkers would occasionally discover in their sixpacks of beer and liked the taste.
