Title: Relay for bathroom light 2003 U320 AGDS
Post by: Johnstons on October 07, 2014, 07:44:35 am
On our 02 the relay for the light in the bathroom is in the cabinet where the switches are on the bedroom side of the vanity.  Our kids have bought an 03 U320 and we havent found the relay yet. None of the three switches that should turn that light on produce a sound to indicate the relay is switching on.  Both coaches are 40' AGDS.  Can someone with an 03 tell me where they hear the click?  That would help us diagnose why there is no bathroom light.

Thanks

On my coach the relay is located in a gray box, fastened to floor of kitchen cabinet below drawers near refrigerator.  You can see gray box in photo.  Hope this helps.

On our 03 the relay clicking comes from maybe behind a drawer in the bathroom Ours has the open wall between the bedroom and bathroom, might be able to see it if the switch panel in the bedroom is removed

That grey box in our coach is the electric relay for the Aquahot.

Our Relay for that light is under the bottom drawer in the bedroom. Have to remove the drawer to see it.

Thanks Barry, you are correct, my photo shows the aqua hot relay box and not the light relay.  It sounds like it is coming from the box but volt meter says different.  I will keep looking for mine.

Thanks Barry. That is probably where it is. Ours is tucked under the counter top in the 02. Small differences all over the place.

The light isn't at the top of his list right now. He discovered the air bags on the tag were cracked so he was putting some new ones on while ago. I'd rather look for a relay than that job.

I believe this is the relay if you need to order one. 2 Step Impulse/Latching Relay, SPST-NO 16A, 12V DC coil, AgSn... (http://www.ieknox.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3444_1234_1287_1288_1290_1715&products_id=17562)

Does he have the part number for the tag axle air bags as I think I will have to replace mine as I see they have some cracks at the bottom of the bags?

Thanks for all the replies about the light relay. We are "the kids" that johnstons was talking about. I may tackle that tomorrow. As Johnstons said, there were other things at the top of the list. The air bags that came off the tag were Goodyear 1r11-039, I replaced them with the same.

red tractor if you decide to tackle them yourself, let me know and I will tell you what I learned in the process. It is VERY TIGHT in there but it obviously can be done.  I'm not a small guy, nor am I very "bendy" as my wife called it while ago, which definitely made changing those challenging.

Barry,we found the relay from your instructions but instead of under the drawer it is on the outboard side of the drawer behind the drawer slide. I lay on the floor to finally reach back there to push the manual button and the light came on. I suppose that means the relay is bad. Not sure what else it could be.  None of the three switches gets so much as a click.

By the way, that is the same relay for the kitchen light (with the second switch at entry), and the water pump (on coaches that have multiple switches to turn on the water pump).
