Terry and I will attend our first Grandvention in Oklahoma later on this month. I have searched the archives and no info. How do Fore Travelers dress at the Grandvention's evening dinners and at the closing banquet. Thanks,
Larry
Our experience is that everything is casual. A little dressier for the banquet with some wearing a coat and tie.
When I retired I burnt all my suits, ties and jackets. I haven't been thrown out of any Foretravel meetings yet.
:)
I think the wheels dress for the photo shoot and those who are moving into an office position and those with 100,000 plus traveled miles. DAN
I think it is denim & diamonds for the final dinner this year or so I was told. Not too dressy, business casual usually.
I'm with Jeff, but I gave up all of that stuff in the 80's. Found a tie not to long ago in a drawer. It had little locomotives on it. Also from the 80's. I have some nice, not worn too much jeans for dress up. And a couple nicer shirts, too. That's all there is.

What's a "tie"!?!
Do you have a picture of yourself in that outfit!?! It certainly would be interesting to see . . . .
Just take off your hat indoors. First Foretavel group that Inever saw, I was still driving an SOB, was in El Paso about 20 years ago. I was impressed, all of the men had removed their hats.
removing your hat once indoors is a time honored tradition in the western culture, same with sitting at the table while eating.
My cats inform me, the correct attire includes white tie and tails.
But they lie like dogs.
Thank you Harvey and John.

Now, this turned into an entertaining thread! Who'da thunk it?
I have a pretty good store bought shirt and thanks to oxy clean most of the oil stains came out... I figure they will usher me right on in.
Thanks to everyone for their response. I am looking forward to meeting you all at the Grandvention.

Our Splendide is working again so both Karen and I should have something clean............. ;)
In addition to people, cat, and dog attire, don't forget to put a Foreforums sign in the front window of your coach (adding your forum name is optional) ^.^d

And here are some business cards if you want to print them out to help assimilate the uninitiated ;)
My dogs dress better than I do.
Funny thread!
No G-strings. Especially guys.
Thongs depend on the venue.
Hi Dave,
Good to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and Starr.

Slow but steady improvement
Thanks!
