While finishing a few things I was working on under our coach I decided to check all hyd' hoses etc for friction damage as we did find a few places when Don had their coach here. Low and behold the Aeroquip Hyd line from Pump to radiators was comprimised in 2 places by being too tight across frame members. Luckily the metal liner in it was only just starting to get worn so covered hose with a solid rubber strip and fastened it to this frame hopefully to fix it. There was another one on same line so did this of course and a ground cable was half cut thru by friction in another place. In all I fixed 4 problems waiting to happen and took measurements etc of the main Hydr' one so I can make up a spare (just in case). I think this was the same line that Piku had his recent on road disaster with.
I strongly suggest that you all take a look and check these things out as it may come back and bite you if not. Should you be having your coach in for tires or mechanical work maybe ask if you can do a check while it is high enough off ground.
Hopefully I have averted a major problem while on the road.

I had a similar experience except that mine was found by Bern Ramspect while my coach was in getting work done. My hose had 4 spots worn down to metal, so he had a new one made, installed it, and checked all the others.
If anyone needs mechanical work done in NAC on their engines- give Bern a call.

Good reminder John, after reading the post on the incedint with Piku, I went to lookin and found a couple that needed a fix.
It would appear that hose is particularly vulnerable. In my case the small fuel line between the filter and the pump is what damaged the radiator fan hose. I will probably go through and replace all of them once we aren't on the move again as it's fairly cheap insurance.
The hose that has caused concern for me is the line that runs from the reservoir across the beam of the chassis, down under and into the radiator. It hangs down below the frame rail and it gets scrubbed when an elevated transition is crossed. Great engineering.. pc
Keep looking for and finding rub problems. Just put some protection on a generator fuel line and radiator hose in the front left compartment.
I've fixed several back in the engine compartment also.
It is an on-going watch item.

I wonder if that wasn't FT's doing as in my coach none of the lines run below the frame rails. I want to be annoyed at how FT ran the hoses but I can't imagine how I would do it better. With the retarder, air lines, fuel, coolant and everything else in the area, there are just hoses running everywhere.

FT likely noted the engineering (design) issue and moved this fitting to a location other than the bottom of the radiator/cooler (I would hope.) pc
95' being more or less the first year of the Unicoaches, some teething problems were inevitable. I imagine there were many below the surface changes over the first few years. Heck, there are changes or little differences in coaches of the same model and year with build numbers not that far apart. I still haven't found the location of our AGM module ::)
