We are now using a 20" Walmart box fan to cool down the bedroom when the outside temps are below 72 degrees. To position the fan in the window we made a simple PVC frame that allows the fan to be removed, reversed & relocated to a living room window ledge if desired. Shrink tube covered bolts in four short PVC pieces hold the fan centered over a PVC bottom support that is held in place with a long threaded rod.
Our coach has drapes where we modified the rod to allow them to be pulled to the center. We also installed double MCD shades behind the drapes and the fan is positioned away from MCD's.
Often we run the fan on low speed most of the night and also the white noise helps. Not only has it reduced roof air usage, fan is quieter, consistent, and we now bring in fresh air.
All PVC is ¾" except for the top rear ½" pipe that prevents fan from moving when driving (or stopping suddenly). None of the PVC is glued together.
If you put the fan in a window away from the bedroom blowing out it will pull cool air in without the fan noise. FWIW

We have used fan in living room window (fan wants to blow off ledge) and Kool-o-Matic with only bedroom window open to 'suck' in air. But nothing comes near the air volume of blowing into a room with a window open on opposite wall. We think this simple idea is one of the best things we have done to improve our sleeping area. Right now the inside temp is 72 and outside temp is 61 and with fan doing its thing, the bedroom temp is coming down and in a couple of hours when we hit the sack everything will be more comfortable. And we don't have to close up and run the roof air's.
Like the fan idea. But in the photos we saw (Called wife to come look at this!) an addition to the window we do not have. The slotted, jaolousy window thingy. Where from? andy1

The window thingy is called Window Maxx and like some other good RV items are no longer manufactured.
Company was bought out and this one item dropped.

We have always had 4 Window Maxx's in our coaches. They let us lock windows in an open position, letting air come in, even if it is raining outside. Just the thing for a New Mexico hot day. Also works great if one has animals. It fits all radius windows that slide open, like many of our coaches.
What do you mean that you don't have this bedroom window?

Is it the blow out desire? My fantastic fan has a blow in switch.
I like the setup, maybe I'm alone here just seems like its redundant with current air movement systems.

I suppose I have the same question. We've been quite pleased with the air movement created by the Fantastic Vent fans in our bath and kitchen. What's the real advantage in having all of the extra hardware?
Add in the fact that hot air rises and the use of the ceiling fans makes even more sense.
I don't think it is about changing the air out of the coach with outside air as much as it is reducing the temperature of the coach itself. Exhausting air out of a window near the front of the coach and letting in cooler, outside air from the bedroom windows (or the other way around) will cause the cooler air to move through the coach cooling the structure down and pushing the heat out.
Our old two story non-airconditioned home in St Paul had a very large exhaust fan in the upsatirs ceiling. Opening just a few windows on the first floor and closing some doors caused the cooler night air to pass through most of the house and then out. This fan sucked several times the volume of air in the house every hour. After running the fan overnight and then closing windows the house would stay cool for several days.
Our ceiling fan in the BR makes sleeping on a warm evening easy. We have a small fan up front. Any air movement makes a big difference.
