Well I really step in it this time! While maneuvering the coach to park it next to my garage I forgot that the stove top cover was in the upright "and not locked" position. Well as you can see nothing good comes from that. Can this be fixed and matched or can I get a new one from FOT. Any help will be appreciated.
GK
FOT is really good at repairing stove covers if a chunk has broken off. However your's is quite extensive. I'd send them your photo and get their input on your options. Perhaps you'll get fortunate enough to where they can mend it back together. We had a corner break off and they did such a good job we can't tell where the fracture occured.
good luck
I broke a sink cover. It was a simple, clean break. I asked FOT to fix it. They fabricated a new one for about $100.
I recently broke the stove cover. Again, it was a simple, clean break. I used clear packing tape on both sides to hold it together for a couple of months. I took the tape off one side and glued it together with CA glue from the Rockler Woodworking store. It appears to be holding up well. I still need to use some fine sandpaper and polish to dress the seam.
Your break is extensive. However, you might be able to put it together, piece by piece, with CA glue and a lot of patience. Another option is to buy a large cutting board and trim/route it to fit the stove top.
You might consider this modification to hold it open after you get this one fixed.

Greg,
Find a local shop that makes Corian countertops. They have the right kind of glues to put it back together and then sand and polish it out.

+1 - Roger.
The avonite is still made that was on my 97 which appears to be the same.
FOT super glued my edge broken similar cover and it snapped off in my hand when I tried to install it.
Found a local real corian/avonite man and $20 later it's fixed and nearly invisible.
My 1997 U 320 has Corian for our tops. In 1998 or 1999 Foretravel started casting their own material for tops.
They stopped this a few years later. The adhesive for the Foretravel cast tops is harder to find. Ask Foretravel what they use for repairs. Your top is repairable.

Thank you all for your quick replies. I think I will first look at someone local who is an expert in Corian repair. In the LA area there should be someone. If anyone knows of someone please let me know. Thanks again for all your expert advice. I will update when this is completed.
Here is the guy who did mine. Total pro. Quartz counters is the newest thing.
Advanced surfaces in Anaheim, ca.
Everybody, Thank you again for all of your help on this matter.
Bob- I took the stove top cover over to Bill Hurney of Advanced Surfaces in Anaheim, Ca and they did a fantastic job of repairing it.
I cannot see where they glued it back together. What a great group of people he has working for him there. There phone number is 714-635-0949
Wow, you're right, that looks great. Thanks for the tip about Advanced Surfaces. I need a new Corian "desk top" made to replace the little side table in the living room. That may be a good place to start to get this made.
Jennifer,
I highly recommend these folks. Super nice and easy to work with.
Now that you have the cover fixed, you might add a slide to keep it from falling again.

Glad it worked out. The real guy.
