Title: Wiper Arms(Update)
Post by: stump on October 25, 2014, 09:00:58 am
I was looking at my wipers on my 91 GV and they have the heavy duty bolt on blades on it. I am thinking of replacing the arms with some that can accept more readily available blades. Has anyone used these Wiper arms? They look like they should do the trick. They are available adjustable or can be custom bent to the angle you need and accept the hook style blades.

Stump, Be aware that the little knurled piece that slips over the shaft comes in at least two different sizes.  Don't know how you would tell until you try to fit the arms.

I will be interested in your impressions of the build quality of these. I want to replace ours because the pivot points are pretty worn and sloppy (these are pantograph arms for the bus style coaches). I did successfully adapt some standard wiper blades for our screw mount arms, but it was a pain and I want to be able to change the blades as often as I want without the hassle. I did get some of the heavy duty types that had the right mount for screws, but they were almost $30 apiece. From the pictures, the pantograph versions appear to be of good quality.

I got my new wiper arms yesterday. I wanted a easy to change wiper blade for my 91 GV. I bought them from AM Equipment, Part number 352-0201  amequipment.com The quality is outstanding way more beefy than the stock arms. The fit was perfect.

Contacted AM Equipment today to learn that part number 352-0201is no longer available.  They recommended 352-0572 as a direct replacement.  Ordered and will install on my U280.

Do your new arms have the J hook end for quick blade changes

These were not j hook arms. Had hoped they were whst you had ordered but got arms with shroud and bolt holes like original.
