Which brand(s) of fuel filter is best? Which brand should one stay away from?

My recommendation is stay with the OEM brand filters, Fleetguard, Racor is my stock.
Surely there are many opinions of better, cheaper  so do what you like.
Proper Filters are good insurance.

I would agree with Dave. Although my go to brand is Wix. A cheap filter is just that..

I agree with Dave on the oem filters. I use Fleetgaurd. Buy them at Online Truck Filters for Sale, Filterbarn H&S Industries - Filterbarn (http://www.filterbarn.com/)

Having purchased a lot of filters for diesel equipment over the years there are good aftermaket brands but you cannot go wrong with OEM.  I use Fleetguard.
