If someone was to put on a no host Rally in a nice location for all Foretravel owners and wanna bees Would there be any Interest? like say in the summer around Mount Rushmore or someplace else. Just wondering.
I would say that summer around a tourist spot might be hard to find a site. I would put it in an area like Branson or TN where there are shows and they are capable of handling large crowds.
Thanks John, If one put some thought into it early one might beable to secure a spot. Just thought I would throw it out there. Branson would be a fun spot.
I think it is a good idea. Would like to see something like this.
David
There are several good places in the Branson area. How many coaches might be coming?
I think we are already working on one in Quartzite middle January. Doesn't mean we can't have others though. Plan away! :)

Right on Ken !
The Unruly group last year was the best ever !
Should maybe have two.
1. for the structured group with rules
2. Last years group
Ken i was not sure if the rally at the Q was open to any foretravel owner. We are going to be in the area around the 17th of Jan and would love to me some other Foretravel owners.
Branson would be good for me. Believe we could make it. DAN
The Quartzite non-rally is open to everybody. We had several SOBs there last year. You are welcome to join us. I'd love to compare coaches since we are only a few number apart in coach numbers.
Not positive sure we will be there but for the moment it's a go.

In the world of mules, there are no rules.
Applies equally well to non rallies.
We are hoping to be at Q as we should be passing thru at that time.
JohnH
Yea that would be great Ken, Look forward to meeting and swapping stories. and having a great time.
Loved buddy rally's. Always a few sales from the sob's
I have looked at available signage options at Lowe's ... should be easy to manufacture a few that we can stick up at the appropriate spots to find our group at Q. The Non-Planning Planning Committee can be in charge of putting them up ... last guy to leave can take them down and keep them until next January. Foretravel and Friends of Foretravels are all welcome! We don't need no stinking' rules!
We are at Xtreme for 3 weeks till the end of Jan and then heading to AZ. Who is going to be left there during February? We want to get to Q someday. Have Jeep will travel (Brad). Missed the GV too. Stuff, you know. Going to try harder for next year.
Maybe be should look for another time and another place. Wherever it is we would like it to be somewhere that we would choose to stay for a at least a couple weeks.
Sure hope to run into FF friends out in Az and NM.
Roger and Susan
Signage would be Great Carol for our trip to the Q, been there for The Eagles rally right by the Big tent on the south side of the freeway. So if we can help in anyway give a shout. We will be heading down on the 11th of Jan to Fountian hills for a few days and then on to the Q.
We plan on being in Quartzite from the 15th thru the 23rd of Jan. We've never been there, so how do we make connections with FT people?? Thanks and have a great day ---- Fritz
Check this thread for the location of the boon docking group in 2014.

There were several other folk in the higher rent districts that had some amenities other than flat, open areas covered with gravel.
We'll be in AZ for some of Jan., all of Feb. and Mar.. We'd love to connect with fellow FT owners around Ouartzsite, Yuma, Tucson, Wickenburg, or Lake Havasu. While in AZ, we visit museums, music events, car shows, rodeos, or places that have all of these.
Bob,
Anne and I left the Escapee's North Ranch in Congress, heading back east for Thanksgiving. We'll be back by mid-December and will be there until April. We look forward to seeing you.
Gary may have come up with an enlightened possibly semiofficial name for this non-event.

;D
I plan to be in the area for sure with one wife , two dogs and one off road toy . Any of you interested in a great off road experience ? The area is loaded with options . I know a bunch of trails but most likely not even half of them . Brad Metzger
I would love to join you this time. Got an extra seat?
@Tom I'm pretty sure you'll have to fight the dogs for that extra seat. They look pretty mean... :)

Brad, only one wife? Bring 'em all or they will fight. ;D
Keith
Seats ? Most likely . My new toy ( Still on order ) has four . Should be here about turkey time . Looking forward to getting it and doing it . Brad Metzger
What is the big deal about Quartzite AZ in January? Just the RV show, or ?
From what i can tell lot of you like to make it there .... ?
It is 1170 mil from us so not that bad ... just curious ....
No big deal to it , simply a group of Foretravel owners getting together and enjoying each other . The pride of any up grades ETC. ETC . The desert thing is another . The big tent thing is still another . Been there four times and liked it . If you have an off road toy , that's the place to bring it . Brad Metzger
Al,
Great to see a number of Foretravel friends that we only see once a year. We live in Tucson during the winter and January is a great month to break up the 5 or 6 months. We usually go to Mexico for dental work at the same time. Head over to Indio for a few days and then see other sights in that area. Usually spend 12-16 days. We look forward to this time..
I snagged this from Wiki:
Quartzsite is a popular recreational vehicle camping area for winter visitors, and tourism is the major contributor to Quartzsite's economy. Nine major gem, mineral, and 15 general swap meet shows are very popular tourist attractions, attracting about 1.5 million people annually,[9] mostly in January and February.
Good to know. Thank you.
I just received my order of 20 Chinese Floating Fire Wishing Sky Paper Lanterns to take to Quartzite. We saw a few floating by last January, this should be fun.
Here's another source for signs: cheapcoroplast.com
Sue and I will be in Ajo around the 18th of December at the Golf Club, then down to Organ Pipe NM from Dec. 21 to Jan. 3. Tucson (Catalina SP) Jan. 4 to Jan. 31. Look us up if any of you are in the area.
Al
What are the dates? Never been to Quartzite and looks like a good chance we may be able to do it this time. Understand the "Lemons" no longer involved, so once we're in the Quartzite area, how do we find and join up with the gathering of the Foretravel group?
What you need is a big Foretravel flag to locate your home spot.
Karen and I are coming around mid January. How can we find the group? Smoke signals???
This will be our first time and looking forward to it.
I will be going to the area in the next couple weeks. I will post the approximate coordinates on this thread, as well as directions. We are currently in Bouse AZ "squatting" on BLM land. Beautiful out here. If you like the desert that is.
Roland
Betty and I will be there for most of the month also.
I'm in the process of changing out all my org. day/night shades to the MCD shades and will bring them with us. Haven't determined a price for them yet but will come up with something soon.
@Ted & Karen Don't worry as we get closer to the event those us who are going will post our cell numbers. You can call one of us so we can guide you in. Also once we are there someone will post the gps coordinates. The issue is that as Tom Lang mentioned it's first come first serve. If someone else decides to take that spot we have been using we will have to find another one. There is plenty of parking out there so no trouble finding a new spot.
The general directions are take 95 south out of Quartzite to La Paz Valley Rd. It's a dirt road about 6 or 8 miles south of Quartzite. Head west on La Paz about 3/4 to a mile. Look north for Foretravels. The area is off the road a little ways and is easier to see after you pass it, turn around and are heading back east. :) Hence the need for a sign. Last year we just told people to look for a sign that another group put up. Did kind of backfire since about halfway through our no-host rally they pulled their sign and left! The nerve of some people. :))
When we went last year we stopped a one of the first turn outs on La Paz and dropped the toad, then used it to scout out the area for the group.
PRO TIP1: bring firewood. :) The campfires are a lot of fun.
PRO TIP2: If you plan to run your generator to charge batteries park away from the solar guys.
PRO TIP3: Drive slow though the desert when entering and leaving the campground. Keep the dust down. Good advise almost anywhere.

Good advice and thanks for the heads up. Eileen and I are looking forward to getting out of the cold for awhile. Will be working in Denver for a few days the first part of Jan and heading south from there around the 10th Hope to see you there.
From Quartzite go south on 95 to MM99, take that right, road is paved. Approximate GPS co-ordinates: N33 34.969 W114 13.831. I say approximate because this is a "fluid" free dry camp area and as stated before someone may have already be camped out there. Just look for the Foretravels we/they will be in the area.
Roland
Sue got some time off and we're planning to head to Quartzite early in January. Unfortunately we have to be back here about the middle of January so we'll probably miss the biggest portion of the group. We'll warm a spot up for ya!
CB Channel Four (Fore) should be monitored by at least one or two people while we're there. I'm pretty sure we've all got CB radios. :P
Craig
I promised directions to the rally site so here they are:
From quartzite go south on route 95 to mile marker 99.
Just past that mile marker go West (turn right) on 53rd St. North. (La Paz Valley)
At approx .6 mile turn right and then a quick left.
This will bring you into the rally area.
From Yuma, go North on route 95 to about .5 miles past mile marker 88
Go west on 53rd St. north and follow the above
The GPS coordinates are
N 33 34.969 W 114 13.831
I went to the area today and there wasn't anyone where we hold our gathering although there were quite a few rigs just as you turn off 53rd st.
Hope this helps anyone who has not been there before and plans on attending.
Roland
Thanks Roland, looking forward to meeting like minded owners. ^.^d
When you turn off the paved road, take the unpaved track closest to paralleling the paved road. I recall at least three unpaved tracks fanning out from that turnout.
Roland, you sure are early :D
Betty and I will be there from about the first week of January till the end.
Can't say we will be boondocking all that time though!
Hope that doesn't mean we can't come and visit everyone.
Good point Tom, looks a bit different this year but taking the track that keeps you closest to the paved road will get you there.
Roland
Richard, visiting everyone is not an option.... It is a
requirement!
Went to Yuma today from Bouse, stopped by the area for GPS coordinates and check things out even though it is a bit early. We will be going to Quartzite around the 11th of January.
Roland
Keep in mind that if you take the 2nd or 3rd track in you'll be considered to be in the projects ;o)
best, paul
And if you go south instead of north of the paved road, I'm told clothing is optional there.
Dang! We've walked that road many times and never found the clothing optional spot!
We did find the pet cemetery.
best, paul
