Good evening. Looking for suggestions on insurance carriers / agents for our Foretravel. Ideas / recommendations?
Thanks!
Unless you are full time I would check with whomever is the agent for your current insurance. If they don't know anything about motorhomes it may be time to shop for all of it.
If you are full time there are different rules with different companies and that opens an entirely new conversation.
(In view of full disclosure I'm an agent for a major company. Every company has different rules on coaches.)
We use Ron Jarvie - Overland Insurance located in AZ. Specializes in RVs and I believe serve many on this forum. I am not associated with Overland Insurance in any capacity other than being a satisified customer. :D
If you would like his phone number please PM me and I will shoot it back to you.
We have been VERY happy with our Costco Insurance Company, Ameriprise.
Snip: Looking for suggestions on insurance carriers
If you're an AARP member, they offer a pretty decent RV policy through The Hartford.....

When I was shopping for insurance, I didn't think about it very much. I went to Amica who handles my car insurance, but they don't do RV insurance in NJ. They recommended Progressive, which is who I went with. I did have a total loss, and I suppose the most important feature of an insurance company is how they pay in a situation like that. They handled my claim well from beginning to end with just a few mostly reasonable hassles. They paid me up to the limit of my policy ($25,000), even thought they estimated the value of my loss to be $27,500. So I got a little screwed there, but that was probably my own fault for not being more thorough and understanding my policy on the front end. I guess I never thought I'd need it :-).
Paid promptly, and were kind over the phone.
We just changed from National Interstate to National General. Were able to insure both rigs for less than we were paying for just the RV. We do have full timing endorsement. It is interesting, 4 months ago Blue Sky had the best rates. Our current agent recommends re-evaluating every year. Our annual premium for both vehicles is $1,946 with $2,500 collision deductible.
