Post by: toyman on November 11, 2014, 06:36:56 pm
How much individual driving instruction & road time do you get in your own coach ?

Hi Dave & Jan,

All the road tme is in the IH 45's...class room time is generic, applies to all coaches, more or less.....so you'll have to take the knowledge learned at school & apply it to your own coach, but it'll be a breeze after driving the big ones!

Hi Dani,  pretty exciting to drive one of those big fellows.  Let us know how it feels.  You probably sit a foot higher in the IH45 than we do in our less tall coaches.  Have fun!

Snow and ice here today.

Roger, the whole thing is overwhelming just to be in...yesterday we did the walk around outside & inside with James T., it is huge with all the slides out & way luxurious....Gerri O. got to sit in the driver's seat while we went thru the air brake test, everything is electronic & digital, push button this & that, like I say, overwhelming!  Today we take them out for the course driving, parallel parking, zig zag course, all kinds of stuff to keep us on our toes!  :P  And, doing a walk around with James is loads of fun, he is full of 35 years of FT knowledge, & stories.

Well I still think you all need to sign up for the FT school next year (and do it early!!!)...it is an all around Foretravel fantastic experience and you will learn so much more about your amazing machine!!!!  Factory tour, tons of info on the coaches & the history of the company...but bring your bibs, you will be drooling all over the place with this many FT's in one place, it is Motor Coach Nirvana!!!
