I have a replacement camera and monitor from http://www.rvcams.com (http://www.rvcams.com) and decided to install it today. It seemed like a simple project and it would be if I could have found the forward end of the old cable.
He told me to cut the cable at the back and front and soldier new ends from the short cable he sent. The back is easy but I searched for a long time for the Panasonic camera modulator where the cable terminates at the front of the coach.
I tried following the two wires from the selection switch on the Audit monitor.
One goes under the center of the dash to the Audit computer for the tank gauges.
The other I followed through various wire looms and got lost trying to trace it. I removed every panel I could take off but nothing looked like what is in the wiring diagram for the modulator where it shows the original cable to terminate.
The camera guy told me I was looking for a little black box.
Thanks to Dick's faulty zip tie What is it??? (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=14449.msg84182#msg84182) and Barry's reply I went back and pulled down the little silver box I saw in the photos. The connections weren't visible from top or bottom.
What a lifesaver this forum has been over the years.
A search for Panasonic modulator would have saved me a lot of time.
