Title: Docking Lights Switch
Post by: Kevin on November 23, 2014, 08:39:05 am
Thoughts on why there is a switch for the docking lights above the bed? I get the other switches, generator start and bedroom lights.

What say you?

If you hear a noise outside and fear for intruders or wildlife, easy to turn on and scare them off or see what is going on

It has come in handy to run off wildlife that was rummaging around the campsite during the night.

OK where the heck is that switch above the bed?  It must be hiding...am finding all kinds of switches everywhere but not that one.  Am not in the coach again til next week, but I looked once when this came up & didn't find anything.

270 does not have the switches.  295 and 320 both have them.  I had none on my 99 270 DAN

I think that switch could be quite useful if one heard a strange noise outside in the middle of the night.

Someone I think posted the wires are there

Yes, and with a (pre-recorded) "big dog bark" attached!  :))  Bob, if that's the case, Id like to activate that switch.  One more project on the list!

Our docking lights do not use latching relays, but do use two regular relays on the front breaker board.

We did add a docking light switch in bedroom, kitchen, and door. Now we mostly use the door switch.

.....sitting for eight years means every system is suspect until proven good.

....."good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good"

.....it's totally fixable with time and money to me.

Yeh Bob, my "bargain" coach has practically been re-built & doubled my original expenditure!    Still, wouldn't trade her for the world, & still only 44,000+ miles on her.  Plenty more life left in the old girl...(both of us!) :))

Wires for docking lights...or docking lights/generator/etc? I'll have to check and see if any wires are there...it'd be nice to have the switches in the bedroom.

Glad you jumped.  A good unicoach seems to be around $50k invested.  The 44k miles means it's broken in.

I like more engine and the mechanical engine is fairly easy to tinker with if so inclined.

Pull up the "floor" inside the cabinet directly above the bed and you should find them there.  I thought about putting in the clock that our "poortravels" don't come with, but once I heard the price I decided my iphone wakes me up very well!
