Title: HWH Question?
Post by: Old Hippie on December 02, 2014, 10:02:12 am
If I turn off the HWH system will the air ride still function properly while driving?

By "turn off" do you mean A: completely remove power supply from the HWH system, or B: just press the OFF button on the HWH leveling panel?

If you mean A, then I don't know, but I would guess "No".

If you mean B, that is what happens automatically when you release the parking brake.  You can't get a TRAVEL light with the HWH panel "ON".

Unless, of course, your much newer coach operates differently from our GV.  If so, ignore my remarks.

Yes, just turning off the power button.

(On our coach) When the HWH panel is "ON" you see 4 red "Air Bag" warning lights.  To get a 'TRAVEL" light, the 4 red lights must be off.  When you press the "OFF" switch on the panel, the 4 red lights go off and (assuming the ignition switch is on, the parking brake is released, and you have sufficient system air pressure) the green TRAVEL light comes on.  This is the normal travel mode, and the air ride system should function as designed.

Old Hippie,

Perhaps you did not get a HWH Operator's Manual with your coach.  If that is the case, go to the first link below, and identify your HWH Leveling panel.  Then go to the second link, and download a manual.  Lots of good info will be found therein!

Thanks Chuck.
I am trying to figure out how the small compressor pop off activates while I am driving(see my previous New Sound post). I was hoping to be able to turn off the HWH system to see if that problem still happens. I think I will turn off the HWH and disable the compressor to see it my issue remains.
OH

OK, I understand now.  I don't think there is any way to remove the HWH system from the equation (while you are driving).  Did you read Michelle's suggestion (last post in the other thread)?  It sounded like a pretty good idea to me...

Currently the second-to-last.  I just added another thought to that thread (ride height valve exhaust filter missing)
