We had a no start today. An hour of troubleshooting found the high current 12v input to the main starter solenoid was intermittent. It took so long to figure out because no wife was home to push the start button. While not attempting to start the lug was reading 12v. I realized eventually the lug was loose, pulled down and boom. start.
So yeah, check for loose connections before blaming the solenoid.
And I'm totally pleased I don't have to spend any money ;)
